．個人感想．

這首歌是針對Foolish Pride這首歌的公開致歉

雜誌The Source在2003年時挖掘出該首歌

發現其中含有大量種族其實的內容

因此在當時對於Eminem是非常嚴重的負面新聞

大家都清楚Eminem是個充滿爭議的饒舌歌手

幾乎各種能冒犯的領域他幾乎都冒犯過了

除了黑人

因為他很敬重他們

除了一些他欣賞的饒舌前輩外

他也有許多黑人朋友

他認為黑人是奠基嘻哈音樂重要的一環

所以從不針對黑人發表爭議性的言論

他甚至不曾在歌詞中使用過the N-word

而那次他會在Foolish Pride羞辱黑人主要有兩個原因

一、當時白人在嘻哈圈極度不受重視，導致他無論走到哪都被欺負

二、他的黑人女友為了另一個黑人男孩與他分手

這兩件事讓他非常生氣

於是當時16.17歲、正值血氣方剛的年紀的他

才會一氣之下寫下這首歌

除了這首歌外

他也多次在公開場合表示道歉

其實一開始聽到這首歌的時候並不是很喜歡

覺得 flow 跟韻腳沒什麼特殊的變化

整首快6分鐘的歌聽到有些聽覺疲勞

直到我稍微了解這首歌的故事後

才終於點燃了我對這首歌的好奇心

我慢慢發現這首歌的迷人之處

不在於歌曲本身的聽覺享受

而是說故事的手法非常地吸引人

這其實在我之前翻譯的許多Eminem的歌曲中已經出現不少次了

但過去大都為了技巧性的flow或押韻

會使得詞聽起來有些刻意、彆扭

但這次就真的是完全真性情的抒發

沒有過多華麗的包裝渲染

在懂歌詞後

很容易被帶入情境

關於最後一句

「Cause no matter what color a girl is, she's still a—(hoe)」

他沒有因為輿論壓力

而對於自己一直以來「拿女性開玩笑」的作風道歉

因為他知道自己那次做錯的是「羞辱黑人」

而不是「批評女性」

因此他在用了整首歌針對前者道歉後

不忘補上一個「我知道我不該針對黑人，但那女孩真的是個婊子」的瀟灑結論

我不確定當時的情況為何

因此無法得知那女孩是否真如同Eminem所說的這樣

但Eminem這就事論事、有原則的態度我滿欣賞的
