Dema:故事中最主要的城市，象徵著抑鬱、消極和不自由
Clancy:故事中的主角，曾沉迷在Dema營造出來的安逸幻覺中，現在為banditos其中一員
Trench(壕溝):分隔Dema與外界，亦為專輯名稱
banditos(土匪):極力想逃離Dema的人們，但被困在了Trench
nine bishops(九位主教):為統治Dema的人物，即niners

這首是Tyler與過去的自己對話
他認為過去的自己思想太負面了
總是容易受到其他人的言論影響
因此他叫他不要讓外在批評影響自己
而是要讓內心真實的自己主導
但也並不是真的要他忽略所有事情
該忽略的是那些無意義的謾罵
和利益性的炒作
而真的要在乎的
除了內心的想法外
還有那些真正關心他的人
家人、朋友、粉絲和banditos等
其實不只是Tyler
我們所有人都太容易被其他人的看法拘束住
好像他們能夠取代我們內心的聲音發言一般
他們的建議或許值得參考
但不代表就一定得一味接受
